Mahant Balaknath Resigns as Lok Sabha MP from Alwar

Mahant Balaknath has resigned from the Lok Sabha seat of Alwar.

The resignation of Mahant Balaknath who has won from the Tijara assembly constituency by a margin of 6173 votes in Rajasthan.

His resignation has added to speculations that he might be chosen as the new Rajasthan Chief Minister after BJP won 115/199 seats in the state. Even if he is not selected as the CM, he might gain a ministry in the new government.

Mahant Balaknath held the post of Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha after the 2019 elections where he won by nearly 3.2 lakh votes.

Who is Mahant Balaknath?

Mahant Balaknath is the incumbent MLA of Tijara and former MP of Alwar. His political careers started in 2016 after his mentor and guru, Mahant Chandnath.

He is also the chancellor of Baba Mastnath University.
