The I.N.D.I.A. alliance is expected to win around 172 Lok Sabha seats which falls 100 seats short of the majority mark in the Lok Sabha. Currently, it seems difficult for the alliance to secure a win as per the IndiaTV-CNX Opinion Poll.
With the recent defeats in state elections, is the BJP set to lose in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024?
No, because of the following. State elections are different from national elections. They have different issues and different voting patterns. In 2018, BJP despite having lost the state elections in Madhya Pradesh(109/230) and Chhattisgarh(15/90) have won the Lok Sabha seats in these states by a sweeping majority (CG-9/11 and MP–28/29).
Is it true that the BJP will get 355 seats in the Lok Sabha Election in 2024?
The exact number of seats depends on the environment preceding the election days. BJP aims to get 350+ seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections but the IndiaTV-CNX poll suggests it will get close to 315 seats.
Which party will mainly give competition to the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections?
The main competitors seem different in National and regional cases. Nationally, the Indian National Congress is set to give BJP the toughest fight. However, several states have strong regional parties like the BJD in Odisha, TMC in West Bengal and DMK in Tamil Nadu.
Will BJP manage to repeat 2014 and 2019 in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections?
Opinion polls and surveys seme to assure a yes to the question. However, there are about 3 to 6 months in the process. A lot of things can change in between these months, both positively and negatively.
Is it BJP vs AAP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections?
The main opposition to BJP in the national level would still be Congress. In Delhi and Punjab, AAP will be the most visible opponent to BJP.
Can BJP win a single seat from West Bengal in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections?
Yes, BJP seems to win more than 1 seat. Elections in West Bengal are highly violent especially towards the opposition. However, learning lessons from the last time during 2019 General Elections and 2021 State Assembly Elections, it seems that Election commission would certainly be more proactive.
If the BJP wins 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but PM Modi loses from Varanasi constituency, will he still remain a PM?
In such a situation, a PM can remain at his chair even if he is unelected for a period of 6 months. Before 6 months expire, he has to win an election. Usually what I have seen in this situation that a leader of the winning party typically resigns and then the PM(or CM) candidate contests and wins. This was done in West Bengal 2021 elections and also in Maharashtra 2018 elections.
