It was won in 2019 by Shripad Yesso Naik who also won it in 2014, 2009, 2004, and 1999. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The South Goa Lok Sabha constituency was established in 1962.
The South Goa seat was won in 2019 by Francisco Cosme Sardinha, who also won the seat in 2014, 2009, 2004 and 1998. Sardinha hails from the Indian National Congress.
